Born in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, Chuchie entered the world of competitive sailing while still young, winning the Spanish Sailing Championship in 1994 at the age of fourteen. Shortly thereafter she began working in the local film industry, and found a new love to equal sailing. Her focus had shifted so far that as preparation for the Sydney Olympic games began, Chuchie chose instead to attend the prestigious CECC film school in Barcelona. At CECC she had the opportunity to get a taste of every department as she collaborated with fellow students to create award-winning shorts.
